Emily Reed-
Today we did various tasks around the camp which included picking up brush piles, sorting them into piles and stacking wood. We also loaded up the dock boards and transported them down to the waterfront. The counselors for the camp have all arrived and invited us to do a team building game with them. We had to stand back to back with our arms linked together and they placed a water ballon in between our backs. Then we had to go through an obstacle course. Me and sara successfully went through the course without bursting the water ballon. Today was the warmest day so far, besides the day we arrived. Yesterday, we went and saw the great Alaskan Pipeline and skipped rocks underneath it. One of the counselors bought us Alaskan Ice Cream, we had some tonight for dessert. It was sooo good. I hope you all our enjoying summer in Cody hopefully without bugs!!
Kennedy Corr-
Hi Mom! Holy cow this morning it dawned on me… I miss you a lot! Hope everyone is having fun in Cody so far! About next sunday, 1) We are aware that next Sunday is Pentecost and I didn’t pick Pentecost songs so if they won’t work that is absolutely fine! I tried to choose some that have been ‘traditional’ that many people like and there are 5 so choose the ones you would like – #1 A Heart For You, #44 Lord I Life Your Name On High, #59 Shine Jesus Shine, #68 They’ll Know We Are Christians, and #76 You Have Been Good. Choose whatever Jonene would like. And… we all were planning on it being the usual crew – you, me, Joe, and Jonene. I love you lots and tell everyone hi. I am making postcards tonight so I hope they get to you on time and if not it’s ok that just means I get to see you first
Love, Kenn
Bret Reed-
Ole did a great job with the bible lesson today. First he opened up with a lesson in praying 1st praising the Lord by acknowledging all the Lord’s wonderful attributes, 2nd prayers of thanks giving for all the Lord has done for us and 3rd, prayers of petition for all the things we need help with in our lives and the people we interact with.
Ole’s focus was on keeping our spiritual fire burning brightly. He gave a chemistry example of throwing boiling hot water into sub zero temperature and the water appears to turn in to steam and vanish. This is what can happen to our spiritual fire if we surround ourselves with only people/friends who have contrary religious beliefs.
Ole tied this to Ephesians verses talking about unity with fellow believers and the the Holy Spirit. Each believer is an important part of the whole body and when all parts of the body work in unison under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God’s plan will be accomplished in amazing ways. We must have some time with God and fellow christians to renew our spiritual fire so we can see and hear God’s plan for our lives. The youth talked about how prayer is an important component to protecting and fueling the flame.
Ole used a Galatians passage focusing faith being expressed thru action of love. This led to the discussion by the youth of how the work we are doing here will allow the camp counselors to prepare spiritually to lead the youth at camp instead of preparing the the camp physically to receive the campers. I am excited to see Ole’s activity tomorrow for teaching his lessons.

Nasty wind woke me up and it was nice to see your blog as I wondered if the house would blow down. All seems ok now. Those pictures of canoeing inspired David and I to make the maiden voyage in the Reed canoe. All went well, except we don’t have a sandy beach….shoe sucking mud is what we have. David still wants to go again soon. Lark swam beside us almost the whole time. She loved us being in the water with her. Keep up the blogging. Love to all, Mary and David

All these weed pulling and brush clearing pictures were beginning to make me wonder if that’s all there was to do there!
It’s nice that the camp counselors are there now, too – change things up a bit!
Kenn, I miss you more than words can say, but I am SO glad that you are having this awesome experience! I’ve been keeping a list of little things that I would tell you day to day, so I don’t forget. I’ll bombard you with those when we take Jack over to camp on Sunday!
I’ll give Jonene your list and let her pick from them, whichever songs are most appropriate for the day.
Oh, and it’s so nice to see that you guys were able to break out of the sweatshirts and wear shorts for a change!! Like Mary posted, the wind here last night was SCREAMING… but it’s nice and calm now. It’s a beautiful morning! We’re supposed to get some more rain in the next few days, but the weekend forecast shows nice weather for you guys to come home to!
The sleeping bag picture – is that how you guys sleep at night? Yeesh… I thought you’d be in cabins… or was that just a slumber party? And the picture of Macy in the lake – didn’t you get enough of that when you and Kenn fell in??
Well, off to the Rec Center this morning. You guys have a wonderful day, and I look forward to “talking” with you again tomorrow!!

Hi All — it’s Ole’s mom again!
Yeah–the wind was the topic this morning….I didn’t want to get up and see how many branches were down in the yard…not as many as expected so I guess I’ll do it instead of hiring the “Alaskians” to help me when they get back..(with their experience it wouldn’t take them long….but I can’t wait anyway…House showing Thursday!! :O) :O)
Macy, your new nick name should be “PB” for polar bear!!!
You guys are so awesome, I cannot tell you how proud I am of ALL of you for your service to the lord. Having “had” almost ALL of you in class gives me bragging rights! (In my opinion…and we all know I am OPINIONATED!)
Bret, thanks for telling us about Ole’s lesson. He is such an awesome guy, don’t you think?!!
Take care, have some more ice cream before you head back since it sounds SOOO good. Love to you! Ole’s mom
